【Main ingredient】Lincomycin Hydrochloride

【Characters】This product is colorless to yellowish or yellowish green clear liquid.

【Pharmacological action】 

Pharmacodynamics : Lincomycin is a lincosamide antibiotic, a bacteriostatic agent, sensitive bacteria including Staphylococcus aureus (including penicillin-resistant strains), Streptococcus, Pneumococcus, Bacillus anthracis, Mycoplasma genitalium, certain mycoplasma (Mycoplasma pneumoniae, Mycoplasma rhinis, Mycoplasma bursa), leptospira and anaerobic bacteria (e.g., clostridium difficile, clostridium tetani, clostridium perfringens, and actinomycetes, etc.). It mainly acts on the 50S subunit of bacterial ribosomes, and exerts antibacterial effects by inhibiting the extension of peptide chains and affecting protein synthesis.

Pharmacokinetics : It is rapidly absorbed after intramuscular injection, and the peak blood concentration is 6.25μg/ml after a single intramuscular injection of 11mg/kg in pigs, and the plasma protein binding rate is 57%～72%. The apparent volume of distribution in pigs is 2.8L/kg, and it is widely distributed to various body fluids and tissues (including bones), with the highest concentration in liver and kidney, and the concentration in tissues is several times higher than that in serum during the same period. It can enter the placenta, but it is not easy to cross the blood-brain barrier, and it is difficult to reach the effective concentration of the drug in the cerebrospinal fluid when inflammation occurs. It can be distributed to milk, and the concentration in milk is the same as that in plasma. Part of the drug is metabolised in the liver, and the drug in its original form and its metabolites are excreted in bile, urine and milk. Excretion in the faeces can be delayed for several days, so it has an inhibitory effect on sensitive microorganisms of the intestinal tract.

【Drug interaction】

(1) Synergistic effect on Gram-positive bacteria such as staphylococci and streptococci when combined with gentamicin.

(2) Combination with aminoglycoside and peptide antibiotics may enhance the blocking effect on the nerve-muscle junction. Combined with erythromycin

Combined with erythromycin, there is antagonistic effect, because the site of action is the same, and erythromycin's affinity for the 50S subunit of bacterial ribosome is stronger than that of this product. 

(3) Shouldn’t be combined with antidiarrhoeal drugs that inhibit intestinal peristalsis and contain white clay. 

(4) There is a contraindication to compounding with Kanamycin and Neomycin.

【Function and use】Lincoamine antibiotics. For gram-positive bacteria infection, can also be used for swine treponemosis and mycoplasma infection.

【Usage and dosage】Intramuscular injection: one dose, per 1kg weight, 0.033ml for swines, once a day; 0.033ml for dogs and cats. It is used twice a day for 3-5 days.

【Adverse reactions】Possesses neuromuscular blocking properties

【Cautions】Intramuscular administration may cause transient diarrhoea or soft stools. Although rare, if it occurs, take the necessary measures should be taken to prevent dehydration.
