【Characters】This product is white or white-like powder.

【Pharmacological action】

Pharmacodynamics:  Mucomycin  is  a  peptide  antibacterial  drug,  is  an  alkaline  cationic surfactant, through the interaction with the phospholipids in the bacterial cell membrane, penetrate into the bacterial cell membrane, destroy its structure, and then cause changes in membrane permeability, leading to the death of bacteria, resulting in bactericidal effect.

It  has  strong  antibacterial  effect  on  Gram-negative  bacteria  such  as  aerobic  bacteria, Escherichia   coli,   Haemophilus,   Klebsiella,   Pasteurella,   Pseudomonas    aeruginosa, Salmonella, Shigella and so on. Gram-positive bacteria are usually not sensitive. There is complete   cross-resistance   with   polymyxin   B,   but   no    cross-resistance   with    other antibacterial drugs.

Pharmacokinetics: Little absorption occurs with oral administration, but rapid absorption occurs  with  non-gastrointestinal   administration.  Drugs   entering  the  body   are  rapidly distributed into the heart, lungs, liver, kidneys, and skeletal muscle, but do not readily enter the cerebrospinal cord, thoracic cavity, joint cavities, and infected lesions. It  is excreted mainly via the kidneys.

【Drug interactions】

(1)  Combination    with    muscle    relaxants    and     neuromuscular    blockers    such    as aminoglycosides may cause muscle weakness and apnoea.

(2)  Synergistic with chelating agents (EDTA) and cationic detergents against Pseudomonas aeruginosa, it is often used in combination for the treatment of topical infections.

【Function and use】

Polypeptide antibiotic. Mainly used for the treatment of intestinal infections caused by gram-negative bacteria.

【Usage and dosage】Calculated with this product. Mixed drinking: 0.4g ~ 2g for pigs and 0.2-0.6g for chickens per 1L of water; Mixed feeding: 0.4~0.8g per 1kg feed pig.

【Adverse reactions】No adverse reactions have been observed according to the prescribed usage and dosage.

【Precautions】

(1)  Prohibited during egg-laying period of laying hens. (2)  Continuous use should not exceed one week.
